The “Fem­i­nists in Games” ini­tia­tive seeks to cre­ate and sup­port a more strongly net­worked com­mu­nity of schol­ars and prac­ti­tion­ers to cre­ate bridges between the indus­try and acad­emy, forg­ing col­lab­o­ra­tions around the com­mon goal of enact­ing and sus­tain­ing change in three areas:

method­olo­gies (how research on gen­der and game­play is con­cep­tu­al­ized and car­ried out);

schol­ar­ship (work­ing to sup­port the edu­ca­tional devel­op­ment of and oppor­tu­ni­ties for new prac­ti­tion­ers in the field); and

indus­try (feed­ing research back to indus­try part­ners, as well as sup­port­ing women work­ing in or enter­ing the games industry).
